Functional Cardiovascular Genomics

Moving from genetic association to causal cardiovascular biology.

Overview

Our scientific focus

Human genetics identifies disease-associated variants, but association alone does not establish mechanism. We use functional genomics and genome engineering to determine how genetic variation alters cardiovascular cell states and function.

Our Approach

From human disease to mechanism.

We introduce or correct candidate variants in controlled iPSC backgrounds, differentiate engineered cells into cardiovascular lineages, and integrate functional phenotyping with transcriptomic and epigenomic profiling. Multicellular models allow promising variants to be evaluated at tissue level.
